It doesn't seem that long ago in which we were celebrating the Summer Games of 2008. Sure, it was four years ago, but those years flew by and before we know it we'll be talking about the 2016 Games in Rio de Janiero.

Michael Phelps ended his Olympic career by helping Team USA to a gold medal in the 4x100-medley meter relay this past Saturday night. The gold medal was Phelps' 22nd Olympic medal. 18 of those medals earned were gold.

There always seems to be somebody to come out of the woodwork to dispel a great accomplishment and this situation is no different.

As you've probably heard by now, four badminton teams were removed from the London Games for throwing their matches. The teams, which consisted of players from China, South Korea, and Indonesia, were not necessarily trying to hide the fact they were losing on purpose either.

Yesterday's column on what I considered to be a ridiculous rule in Women's Gymnastics that kept Jordyn Wieber out of the all-around finals created a great debate amongst the OS community.

Once the shock of Michael Phelps failing to medal in the 400 IM subsided from Saturday, there was a new wave of attention directed to a nine year rule in gymnastics that prevents more than two participants from one country to advance to the All-Around Finals.

The USA Men's Basketball team completed the exhibition portion of their schedule with a 5-0 record and an average victory margin of nearly 27 points. Argentina posed the toughest challenge for USA and nearly pulled off the upset before falling 86-80.
